Cool cool cool, just saw a little infographic on Reddit of the top 20 cities for cost of groceries, and Seattle is number 4. Loving it. Also why I'm obsessed with Winco.

Were there any South Dakota cities on that list? I imagine no, but here, it depends where you go. Rural groceries can be costly, but in the big cities, you can still find decently prived stuff at the big chains like Aldi, HyVee, etc.
Nah, they’re all urban areas. COL is just so pricey in cities. Here’s a link to the Reddit post: old.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/co...
I gave up on the local Safeway and switched over to shopping at Winco late last year. Outside of a random item or two it's now my main go-to place for everything. Grocery prices in the Seattle area are out of control.
Winco is so much cheaper on most things, it’s nuts. Recently had to move my dad into assisted living, which sucks, but the one upside is the place he’s at is really close to a Winco 😅
Sadly, I can relate: I had to move my out of state Dad, and by extension my stepmom, into assisted living at the start of this year. It does suck. But yeah, thank goodness for Winco. I wish I had started going there sooner.
