Sometimes I didn’t get a recommendation. I would just go to a shop near my apartment, which in retrospect ended up with less satisfying results.

I actually did that and it worked out great. I looked at his work though beforehand at great length. These days with social media it's very easy to see most of their work.

It can be okay! I did that too and it’s fine but not my fave (I need to get it touched up anyhow)
