They did have it, but they didn’t pass it. Why? They still believe in failed neoliberal economic ideology. Welfare for billionaires. Trickledown. The right wing & centerist Dems presided over $80 trillion in upwards wealth transfer over the past 40 yrs, creating the oligarchy and allowing fascism.

They had a lot of bigger fish to fry back then. Thanks to FDR, awe have unemployment insurance, Social Security, the SEC, FDIC and the Wagner Act, which legalized labor unions. Health care was not a major issue back then bc it didnt cost very much.

We have not had a super majority since the 1930s. And Ds have had a filibuster proof majority only once for four months in the early 2000s.
