Anders Breivik who the Minnesota Shooter seemed to admire, went to the Island in Norway to KILL young "Liberals". His shooting spree occurred at a Summer Retreat for Liberal Party Youth. Same hate rhetoric against "Liberals", used by MAGA.

I realize you are using "Liberal" here to try to make Americans understand who Breivik killed. However, he killed young Social Democrats, who would not have wanted to be called "Liberal". "Liberal" in US=left, "Liberal" in Europe=right.

In Europe, "Liberal" = "part-right -- like conservatives on economic stuff, not real big on the guns and Jesus". (Not always; there are some social liberals. But mostly.)

Yes, but they only ones making that distinction is liberals (like me). When using it derogatory it is as I stated above. In the US: liberal=communist, in Europe: liberal=fascist (from the right and left, respectively)

Yes. It's really the US that needs translating. US "liberal" = "left wing of a conservative party or right wing of a social democratic party"; US "socialist" (e.g., Bernie Sanders) = "mainstream social democrat".

In 🇨🇦 theLiberal Party is a Centrist Party that leans Left. 🇨🇦 Conservative Party used to be Right leaning Centrist. Now it's Far Right. 🇺🇸 doesn't follow Trad. "ideology". Pure Culture Wars, Guns, Evangelicals, White Supremacy, etc. And 🇺🇸's believe Scandinavians & Canadians are ALL "Socialists".
