😢 You'll have plenty of company. I went without for several years pre-ACA. Tip: Never pay sticker price; always ask about a self-pay discount. Most times, I got 50% sliced off the original bill. Sometimes I needed to give my last tax return to prove my (modest but not poverty-level) income.
