sounds like they'll try to get you for damage to the sidewalk, or protesting without a permit, or anything they can - and then try to turn that into a 1 year sentence. that's how I'm hear it. so if you got a permit, burned it in a barrel, got permission ahead of time for a small, symbolic fire.

There's also an early flag for the 17th/18th century East India Company that has the bars and a union flag (red bars on a white ground was an indicator for commercial trading operations back then.) The Depp Pirates film changed it so you wouldn't feel bad.

Depends on where you do it: On your own property: starting a fire without a permit On public property: disorderly conduct or destruction of public property (maybe a sidewalk gets singed or blackend by the fire), or reckless endangerment (of people around you while you burn it)
