On the shuttle back from the State Fair with my kids today I found myself thinking, “Well, at least we didn’t get shot.” What a great way of living we have here.

How absolutely devastating and accurate to have this thought at this point in American history. I'm thankful for each time I return home after any outing even if just to go grab milk.

My family has the same thoughts when we leave public events. I grew up in LA in the 80’s when drive by shootings and freeway shootings were a thing. It’s a crazy unnecessary way to live
