This is just a very rough outline/proof of concept I threw together while I finalize where the different areas (as labeled) are in relation to one another as well at the general shape of the "arm" (spur) of the galaxy it sits in, right up at the edge.
I'm not sure if the final product will even have a distance scale in it at all because I want to be intentionally vague about exactly how fast travel is in the setting other than it's technically not faster than light but also fast enough...
...to make travel possible with the side effect of time dilation and that it takes an arbitrary amount of time for plot reasons. (The further away it is, the longer it takes, measured in weeks, months, years and decades.)
And then for the names of planets, stations and stars, I've been keeping notes for a while, sourcing mostly from various mythologies and the names of influential figures in astronomy and space exploration.
