Then elevate the Democrats who are standing up to Trump instead of denigrating the party, laud the people who are doing the right things and make that the Democratic image instead of the image that hurts Dems. There's a better way to get more of what you want.
I do that all the time. I’m just not gonna shut up when Democrats do the wrong thing. It’s not OK for them to do the wrong thing just cause they’re on our side wearing our jersey.
You can act as you think best but l urge you to consider if public criticism helps you achieve your goals or the opposite.
I don't think holding the minority party accountable for their mistakes actually helps them, especially not if it convinces other people that Democrats aren't worth voting for. Politics isn't team sports, the difference in electoral outcomes is measured in human lives, these things actually matter.

I find that people who describe politics as team sports, as you have, don't really care about the good Democrats do. If I praised the Democrats for providing Medicaid to 20,000,000 uninsured Americans, you'd accuse me of playing team sports because you don't care about the people that were helped.
I don't think you would have any problem praising the Democrats. The problem is that you discourage criticizing them over some vague notion that it hurts them, somehow.
Popular politics requires popular support, denigrating the Democrats erodes that support and helps the Republicans, this isn't a hard concept.
This is absolutely backwards. Dems forgo minority rights or otherwise do stupid shit, and they lose support. People criticise them for doing stupid shit.
