What's wrong is the spineless GOP that won't do anything to ban assault weapons or institute stiffer gun ownership laws. In fact they are all about crime and freeing murderers, assaulters, sexual abusers, and more. This whole National Guard thing is a stunt—total BULLSHIT. THE GOP SUCKS!!!!!!!!

As an outsider to the US, I believe this to no longer be a Republican vs Democrat issue. The thoughts and action of people/politicians is beyond political partisanship. This is pure greed and power and not what society needs.
Take heart in knowing that there are still many in the US and the world who are becoming awake to these tragedies and it may take some time but what makes us truly human will rise again within us. I hope

I can't look at it w/o thinking "there but for the grace of the universe go I" I can't imagine being a parent to school-aged children or teacher these days. My middle child was a teacher but left the profession a while back. How awful that her leaving gave me a bit of peace of mind.
