yes, but: the lack of hiring is also related to macroeconomics having little to do with AI, and lots to do with Trump administration choices for tariffs, taxes, immigration, education, government layoffs.

But wouldn’t you agree that the lack of hiring is due, in part, to companies wanting to do “more with less”? Why hire more fickle employees when we can have the few employees we keep around use AI tools to do more work?
