It’s not that he’s in a wheelchair, it’s the inconsistency & hypocrisy. Fair bet he’s prayed to be cured, I’d have done. It’s this performative belief a day of prayer magically fixes all. As if people aren’t yet praying, beseeching leaders to help. Jesus said to DO, to ACT to help people in need.

Roll up your sleeves and get down to it, MAKE things happen. Don’t unreservedly work against the interests of your people then when it all blows up, throw your arms up and say “pray!” That’s not DOING, it’s a performative copout. ‘Faith, without love and good works, you are as a clanging cymbal.’
