I read somewhere that his one line openers we written by him and not shared before filming, so if you look closely Sam is often having a drink when they're delivered to hide his smile 🍻
My favorite Norm line...it's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing Milkbone underwear.
Yes!!! I still say this! ❤️
This one doesn't really feature Wendt as much as it does the cleverness of the writers but it's still a tribute to Norm. youtu.be/0FNHD_RyoL8?...
That’s odd that he died the day that “Norm” essentially went away from our day-to-day collective consciousness.
❤️
And, may he be where everybody knows his name?
He's a gem. Always and forever
Touching
The reasons why the words "Rest in power" are inappropriate are left as an exercise to the reader.
Coach: what’s shaking Norm? Norm: a couple of chins and all 4 cheeks
The best.
Who was the person that knocked on the door?
Just a customer, no one special
I was told it was the same actor who, while underage, tried to buy a beer in the pilot episode.
So, Cheers was created by Glen Charles, Les Charles, and James Burrows. According to IMDb, the guy who knocked on the door was their agent, Bob Broder.
Great role in Outside Providence.
Towards the end, we see Sam fixing a portrait of Geronimo. This picture hung in Nicholas Colasanto's (Coach) dressing room. When he died, they placed it here during the remaining series run to show he is always there. Fixing it to say, just one more time, we love you Nicky.

That show had so much heart and was so well made. I'm getting a bit older but I'm glad I got to experience the mid-late stages as a kid.
Jason Sudeikis’ uncle.💔
I grew up in Chicago and he reminded me of every friend, brother, uncle and neighbor I ever had. RIP George.
My brother passed him in the hallway at College of DuPage once, about 1989 or so.
Same picture hung in Mae’s pub in Ted Lasso
