Bugs bunny was my very first drag queen experience.
Bugs bunny was my very first drag queen experience.
No one does drag like Bugs
Arthur Q. Bryan and Mel Blanc, 2 voice geniuses.
One of my favorite cartoons
🤣🤣🤣 one of my absolute favorites
Came for this specific shot; was not disappointed 😂
📌
Which was the one set on Mars? I loved that as a kid. Played the VHS so many times it became practically unwatchable.
Mad as a Mars Hare.
Just checked - it's Hare Way to the Stars. I loved the 60s techno futurist architecture.
Gumball Machine…”10,000 instant Martians, just add water.”
LOL ... I'd forgotten that. 😂
Ship crashes and Gumball machine goes into sewers. Bugs: “Everyone run for your lives or you’ll be up to your armpits in Martians!”
One of my all time favorites. I will always stop and watch this. Chuck Jones was the master
Pure genius in every particular. 🩶
I loved this as a kid!!! Still do as an old lady! 💕💕💕
Year of my birth, and I probably saw it for the first time not long after. "Kill the waaabit!" never gets old.
Love that the clip includes Bwunhiwda.
"You are so wovewy" 🤣
"Yes I know it; I can't help it ..."
I still can’t hear Wagner without saying "kill the wabbit!" I wish I had seen this when I had the chance 35 years ago. www.hollywoodbowl.com/press/releas...
I'm glad i had to act this out with a player for a D&D game.....
Such a beautiful moment in 20th century popular culture. Total masterpiece.
Classic!
’m 59 and have never seen this whole cartoon. Our local station played Looney Tunes cartoons on Saturdays but *never* played this one. I saw Figaro many times but never this one. I wonder why?
Love the toe digs! ♥️👏🏼
My favourite.
Absolute, f_cking classic which I have watched a million times. 🙂
🎶”Oh Bwunhilda, you’re so wuvwee.🎶 Bugs: 🎶”Yes I know it, I can’t help it.”🎶
Kill da wabbit.
Yup. Bugs Bunny introduced me to opera, drag, & art. It was (& still is) great.
My girl is a highborn stepper, Ginger with salt and pepper...
One and two and three and four, she dances all day long
'Wabbit Twacks' a fun name for a track team or just a cool t-shirt with rabbit 🐇 tracks on it. I oftentimes use the phrase 'Kill the Wabbit, kill the Wabbit' when things aren't going particularly well.
Same. So singable. 🤭
Exactly, the tune goes with so many situations 😆 Cleaning for example - 🎶 Kill the Germs Kill the Germs 🎶
🎶 Scoop da Litter, scoop da Litter 🎶
🤣 We could go on and on, it could be an album 😂 🎶 Make da Dinner Make da Dinner 🎶 Thanks for the laugh 💞
One of my faves! LOL
As a midwestern girl born in the 50's, this was my introduction to opera as a child.
I have always loved this one.
Kill the wabbit!!!!
Hitting us GenX people right in the feelings.
This and the Rabbit of Seville were my first introduction to opera. Genius ❤️
Just the greatest
I'll always remember this cartoon because when I was a kid, a power outage happened in my hometown while I was watching this during a storm. My family was gonna spend the night with my grandma until we noticed the power was back on when we were riding in the car. So we went back home. What a memory.
I remember this cartoon episode. Still great! The opera music is pretty cool.
Warner Brothers was legitimately my first introduction to classical music-and this piece in particular is one that I love
Same! I think for lots of little kids of our generation.
A masterpiece. No doubt. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall while these guys "conducted" the symphony - or - I'm sure there are outtakes - the bust-a-gut laughing kind.
📌
Love it. Loved it. Do you know how much classical music I heard by watching these wonderful, clever, creative stories? These brilliant guys, vets returning from ww2, came back and made these vaguely subversive entertainments for "kids", but toons like this were loaded with subtext.
Everything I know about classical music is because of Bugs Bunny.
If you ever get the chance to attend "Bugs Bunny at The Symphony", DO IT. We went last year when the Phoenix Symphony put it on, and we had a blast. Best show ever.
A classic
Brilliant cartoon work. We need this level of genius in cartoons today.
My opera “knowledge” is based primarily on Bugs Bunny episodes.
Ditto. I did later research because of Bugs.
🎶How about a nice close shave? Teach those whiskers to behave. Lots of lather, lots of soap. Please hold still don’t be a dope!🎶
Symphony, too.
Here ya go, then! Consider this branching out!
The Rabbit of Seville 🪮🔥
Oh jeez, I didn't realize this was 20 years ago, but when I was living in Ohio I caught the Shadowbox Cabaret's live rendition of this. A great memory, so thanks for that!
One of the greatest cartoons of all time!
Loved Bugs & co, T & J, and the later shows like Scooby-Doo. All memories from a 1970s/1980s childhood. I was a latchkey kid and coming home from Junior School to watch cartoons while having unrestricted access to biscuits/cookies was awesome. Was Bugs Brunhilde or Gutrune? If Elmer was Siegfried 🤷🏻♂️.
Good funny humor 🤣. Although not necessarily PC by today's standards. 😂

Classic
Wow, in 1957 I was six. I assumed this was much older than that. This was baked into my childhood.
How millions of children were introduced to opera and drag.
That's why he was still appealing to viewers... he was unthreatening, charming, intelligent, beautiful and handsome at the same time. Quick witted, funny, and a transvestite. I loved him to pieces, and more so, to this very day.
This may have been my first lesson in gender fluidity at age 6-7
See this is why when I got to the Hollywood bowl, I had to sing kill the wabbit all the way down to my seat.
Best cartoon EVER!!
Unforgettable 🏆
When he kills the wabbit, that's a hard scene to watch. Poor wabbit.
When delivering the mail and it begins to rain hard, I find myself saying "norf winds bwow! Sowf winds bwow!" under my breath.
The great big horse with the tiny legs gets me every time.
My favourite ❤️
One of my favorite cartoons! 🎵Kill the waaaabit!🎶
One of my all time favourites!
Bugs Bunny & Co., a staple in my childhood!
The Tasmanian devil was a favorite.
Mel Blanc was an amazing genius.
Daffy was pretty cool too.
