I’m still waiting for him to speak to the evil way immigrants are being treated in this country especially regarding the inhumane indefinite imprisonment of the men sent to El Salvador. I will give him some more time but his silence is getting louder each passing day.
My take is that Pope Leo is speaking through the bishops who are taking action, which includes things like adding a prayer for migrants at every Sunday Mass (which may look small from the outside, but is huge to the people in the pews), knowing that Trump is going to attack the Church eventually.
I hope so but not sure. My church never includes prayers for immigrants during Mass. I met with the Pastor who said we can’t pray for every issue and there are people in the pews who disagree with me. He did give a nice homily the following Sunday but I haven’t heard anything since sadly.
Start offering Mass intentions for migrants, then.
