All the "Arch Manning sucks" discourse right now makes me wistful for the days when people just expected that quarterbacks without much experience at the college or NFL level were going to struggle early and that gratification, if it came at all, wasn't going to be instant. Guess I really am old.
Obviously his name hasn't helped this, but other influencing factors besides fans being impatient are 1. him being the literal Heisman favorite, 2. transfer portal means if he's not good this year he won't be there next year, 3. he makes several million dollars
Yeah, all those things are true. Guess we should just stick a fork in him!
lol obviously he is not Actually Bad and will have plenty of decent games, and will get a 2nd chance somewhere next year even if he truly genuinely sucks

I get that but he was the top recruit in the country and this is his 3rd year, these guys have always been talked about this way
I guess. The other thing is he's playing on the road at one of the best teams in the country. We've seen plenty of good, experienced QB's struggle in situations like that over the years, right?
I think a lot of it is confirmation bias from people who were already skeptical of the hype because he didn't challenge Ewers for the job last year
