It’s Trump trying to put Governor Newson in his place for standing up to him! It is so planned, including people like the proud boys who are likely there to make things worse like setting cars on fire. We seen it before in the Northwest and twin cities. Trump is to quick to send in the military.

Yup. He's itching to illegally invoke the Insurrection Act so that active armed forces can be deployed against protesters. It serves as an ideal distraction from his failed economy and the "Big Fuck You Bill" that will gut Medicaid, Medicare, Veterans' benefits, child nutrition and more.

The Insurrection Act is when people try to overthrow the government (Like J6) but this is protesting ICE and has nothing to do with overthrowing the gov. He believes he’s above the law and can do whatever he pleases! He said today he was having all Fed agencies going into LA to put down the riot.

He does! Another goal is likely the declaration of martial law so that elections don't occur and he becomes the permanent Führer.

I truly believe that is the direction he and Republicans are headed! How many times did we hear him say; Elect him and you won’t ever have to worry about voting again. And occasionally adding because the fix will be in if I’m not mistaken. Truly scary times!

There is a bit more to the law than just handling groups trying to overthrow the government. You should probably read it.

But wait. When has ACTIVE military - not just National Guard - been called against Americans?

I think the only times when the military was deployed was when the hurricane destroyed New Orleans and they were needed on top of the National Guard and the other I believe was Abe Lincoln for the civil war. But not against Americans in either case.

There have been a few times where the government siced active duty on American Soil against citizens abd residents. A real well known is 1932 Bonus Army in DC. They sent in the military to attack a protest group of 20k WWI veterans in DC.

Illegal, of course in that case as in the present one. Way afoul of the 1897 Posse Comitatus Act.

He has a God complex right now. He knows millions of people will fight for him. Reminds me a lot of Hitler.

Battle of Blair Mountain would be another fairly well known time that the government sent in the Army on protesters. Sadly our military has been involved in dirty things over the years.

Yep. We aren't that many generations off a lot of very dirty times, maybe we really haven't learned.

Sometimes people will mention Bonus Army when cutting VA makes the news. Yeah for the veteran community that would set a lot of shit off.

That said it absolutly isn't for fighting protesters, but it is for handling large domestic disturbances. So if he can make LA instable enough, it would actually fit but sadly only due to his actions.

Wildest thing is the last time this country had a President use the Insurrection Act, was the LA riots in 1992.

I was living in So Cal about 35 miles inland and that first couple of nights there were barely anyone out at night. The home center where I worked didn’t have a single customer after 6 so we got permission to close early. My crew (mostly women) were so scared they were pleading to go home.

They are for sure going to expand this at the federal court houses and immigration offices nationwide. Not sure I'd want to bet where it kicks off next though, could be any of a half dozen major cities.
