Watching this new Netflix documentary about the high school catfish, and I'm just so frustrated. If your 13 year old is getting harassing text messages, you block the number. You change her phone number. You restrict her phone from ringing unless it's a known contact. Shitty parenting.

The harasser used a rolling phone number, I guess. But they didn't change her phone number, and didn't set the phone to not receive unknown numbers. It seems like there were options they didn't use.

Agreed, as much as I hate the loss of privacy. But as a teen, I would have found a way around that, too.
Yeah its hard to find a good balance.. obviously as a teen I needed privacy because the internet was my safe space away from my abusive parents so thats kinda different but like parents also can find a way the same way teens do
But yeah it's hard to know exactly what to do really to keep everyone safe and happy
