I joked about Freeland to LF in our discord, when realistically, Freeland to SS, Mookie to 2B, Edman to CF is the easy answer. It would probably come with tough decisions, though, the kind that might not be easy to make in April.

This seems like the most logical solution, but I have a hard time seeing it happen this year given Mookie’s stated desire to play shortstop, the time and effort he’s put into re-learning the position, and his solid performance there so far.

fwiw Betts has a neutral DRP (positive attempt range) and a +2 OAA. He's been fine? Not bad enough to push him off it if he wants to be there, and idk that Freeland represents a massive upgrade either, if that's where Mookie is going to be.

Yeah he has been quite solid! Footwork on throws is one of those weird annoyances for me, but his is markedly improved. That said, it would not be about Betts at SS for me in the equation, but Freeland’s lack of experience at 2B, they’re about a wash at short imo, where Betts is already solid at 2B
