This is a terrible story about a terrible person who has targeted people seemingly based upon political differences with the intention of murder. Hopefully, he is caught before he kills anyone else, and this situation causes appropriate concern about violent extremists posing as law enforcement.

I don’t get it. From the newspapers description, the Brooklyn Park cops surprised him as he exited the house. This left him without his car and he then escaped on foot. Yet with every police agency looking for him, he has managed to stay at large.

Reading about it, this does seem like a pretty well-planned crime spree, so it is very possible that he had several contingency plans in mind. Criminals think like criminals, and clever criminals think ahead. It is hard to imagine what he might have done, if he really planned it that well.

Of course, the most concerning thing about that moment when he would have been running away on foot was that he was dressed as law enforcement and armed, so he may have been able to make that work for him in some way which helped him hide quickly or leave the area quickly. It is an awful situation.
