It seems especially cruel to ban cell phones from schools but do nothing about guns

When patriots exercise their right to carry firearms into your children's schools, we do not want the children to be able to call 911 or text you one last time. We are pro-family.

Those cell phones can really distract the kids during their yearly active shooter drills.

This is what I've been saying! Surely active shooter drills, regular news about school shootings and the constant fear of school shootings are far more distracting than phones? Phones which are used to tell parents goodbye or tell them they're safe when there is a shooter. I'm wholly opposed to bans

I don’t think there should be a ban but I think phones should be put away during the school day. My college students can’t seem to put them down during lecture, how can we expect younger children to have enough restraint? Put away means in cubbies - somewhere kids can get them in emergency.
