People need to understand that "Trans Rights are Human Rights" isn't just a trans thing, it is the social equivalent to the lawyer's creed: "Every lawyer has a duty to defend those accused of crimes, even if they are guilty, because defending the rights of the accused protects the rights of all."

When you start splitting hairs about who deserves rights - who deserves punishment under the eyes of the law without consideration of the facts - the unfortunate fact is everyone but those on top end up on the chopping block. No one is safe when "minorities" - people - are persecuted.

"Trans rights are human rights" means that no matter the creed, status, religion, beliefs, or identity someone has, we're all on this god forsaken planet together stumbling to try and find our way. You define your happiness and we all deserve a chance at pursuing happiness - it is a human right.

Clarification: Minorities quoted since really it’s just an “othering” term. Humans be humaning. The lawyers' creed isn't about analogizing propriety. Politicians demonize trans like how people want to persecute the seemingly guilty person. Protecting one protects all - protecting all protects you.
