The past is nothing to what we are seeing now..

I mean the War Powers act was passed in ‘73 to re-establish Congresses role in armed conflicts. We’ve had many since & none have been declared war. Congress has let this go for multiple administrations, they complain, but never change. The same criticism was lobbed at Obama for exceeding the 60 days
While, I can’t stand Trump & I think the powers that have been ceded by the Republicans in Congress are far more than ever has been done, I just don’t know if their credibility to force an impeachment on this act. I think it’s a violation of the war powers act, but i think it’s not the only one.
He's done too much, and it's only been 5 months. What's missing is they were not a threat to us at all. He did that to help Israel. that's why it's a problem. He started a war with a country that was not a threat to us.. that's the only time the war b powers are to be used.
I get all that. However, Impeachment wouldn’t stick, it would hand them another “they are out to get me talking point”. Additionally, this is really a reason to impeach the entire Congress and start over with a slate that will fulfill their Congressional duties, not complain and the duck and cover.
Why do you think the whole international world has a problem with this? He violated the international law..perios..
I don’t think it’s okay. I just think Congress pretending they care on social media, after letting it go for years is disingenuous. My comment isn’t about Trump, it’s about Congress handing over power for years, & then feigning outrage for clout. They need to do their job, even when it’s not hard
That was an active threat. I wish everyone would stop normalizing what this man who is so clueless does. He did it to help Netanyahu, that's it..
Its not relevant if it was active threat, if it goes over 60 days, they have to go to Congress. Also, the act requires it to be a active/ threat emergency against the US, territory, property, etc. for a President to be able to act on his own. Again, we would be arguing agains our former selves
I am very aware that Trump did this for Netanyahu. Also, I don’t support it, I don’t think it was legal, but 1- it is normalized, it has been done before & I have nothing to do with that. However, Congress has set a precedent that this is normal for Presidents to do, I can’t see winning impeachment
