I worked for a shitty Texas company remotely. They fired me after less than a year and screwed me out of my earned PTO pay. Texas law says they don't have to pay, even though I was living and working in Illinois. Assholes.

I donated to Collin Allred’s campaign and am disheartened to see his name voting FOR power giving the prez the ability to strip a nonprofit of its status without cause. WTH?

I suspect that Texas and the states like it will see women like you and their families slowly draining out of their workforce. I already know folks that have left. Unfortunately, those with resources will leave and the rest will be stuck. Maybe it’ll eventually lead to change. Not holding my breath.
We had to make the same decision for our daughter who was applying to colleges. She’s pre-med and Texas has several universities that would be a good fit academically. I just could not do it and with what’s ahead - glad she’s in CO and not Texas

Did you actually look at the study? It compared %⬆️ of infant mortality without taking into account variance population increases. Of the 29 comparison states TX had the most population growth and only 3 or 4 had growth rates higher than 1/2 the Texan rate. Many had 1/5 or even 1/10. NY had a loss...
