You will need to go back to the original states and counties where the names originated. I was foolish enough to be married more than once. It took me awhile but was WELL worth the time and energy to get my name restored to my birth name. I now have readID, passport and all original documents.

It's a pain in the ass to change things back after a divorce. I got divorced in 2014, and the electric bill is still in my married name. They needed an official copy of the divorce agreement, and I'd already been to the court house twice to order copies. Wasn't going to go a third time.
To all you women out there, I don't care how much in love you think you are, do not change your last name when you get married. Do not hyphenate either. Changing our names goes back to when women were literally the property of their husbands.
Can you imagine how diffiCULT it currently is?? Knowing women are 51% of the American VOTING population?
Imagine having to change all your professional licenses as well. (Crazy complicated!) Marriage makes no sense to me now after going through it but, if someone must do it, the woman should consider keeping her own name in these times.

Married twice, currently for 35 consecutive yrs; legally maintained my original surname for 70 yrs and counting. It’s been hassle free and no one questions it. Ppl forget that boomers were the 1st to March for the ERA.
