Probably staged, Big Balls thought he was dead when all he had was a broken nose and a concussion! I’ve had worse than that from playing soccer!!

If you hadn’t been concussed playing soccer (in the U.S. back in the day), you probably weren’t doing it right.

Maybe a bit glib; hopefully we’ve been better as coaches in recent years than we were as players back when, and our charges are playing more beautifully and safely than we did.
