I want to go to there.
There seems to be too many people making money off the current system
A few people making too much is the problem.
Need to get big money out of politics. Here in Canada the maximum contribution is $3000 and there are no such things as PACs
If you're an average person in Sweden it sounds like you have more actual freedom than any other country on earth.
Good model for the land of the NOT SO FREE, and the home of the FELON...
Jepp. 🇸🇪💙
all true, i worked there so let's have an honest discussion. PRO: it cost almost nothing to use CON they pay more taxes, will you (don't cop out with tax the rich) they ration/deny care more than any u.s. insurer rich buy better private care, truly 2-tiered A u.s. solution is in between
Beats me why the aversion to the Scandanavian Model.
Basically “My Taxes” - if there was ever a reason to pay more taxes this is it. Came out of the hospital after major surgery in June. (Canada) No bill. Paid nothing. Had excellent care. Make medical care a human right at no cost to the individual except an increase in taxes everyone pays.
This is government for the people, by the people. This is what it should look like if there is no NRA, oligarchs and weapons manufacturers running the show for their own benefit.
Checking the requirements to move to Sweden right now!
Careful, the tech vulture capitalists will want to swoop in to monetize the sh*t out of all that social good.
How do I qualify for citizenship???
Now do Canada!
You also have a history of competent leadership. We dont have that in the US, and there is no way we would trust the government with that kind of power.
Why can't this country do the same?
We can & we will. 💙
Eat your heart out fascist Americans
We pay billions to Israel and they have a much better health care and education system.
🎯
Yes but you have racism.
It's a similar story in most 1st world countries... bsky.app/profile/late...
I live in 🇨🇦 Who in their right mind would even want to think about living in a dysfunctional country commonly referred to as the United States of America 🍌
In the early 90s, I had a lump in my breast checked out in a Swedish clinic and at another time, I had an x-ray for a dislocated shoulder at a Swedish Hospital. As a visitor in the country I never got a bill. As an American, I let a broken ankle heal without medical treatment and
Suffered pain for a decade because our family could not afford the $3,500 deductible my husband's Insurance required. So wrong. Not getting medical help should never be the go-to option because of desperation due to poverty.
If only it wasn’t so cold I’d move there in a heartbeat since I’m half Swedish🤗!
sigh.
Sweden has a huge advantage in that their politicians care about doing a good job for the public. That is the lowest priority for MAGA Republicans.
I want Santa to bring me this for Christmas! 💙❤️💙❤️
I have Swedish heritage and I must say that I would love to move back🙄🥹🩷
You know what the UK has that and a little bit more....
One of the Happiest country’s in the world. And I see why!
People in the USA 🇺🇸 should never be without health care, food, and housing.
I want to move to Sweden!
It's almost the same in any European country
We need this
We in the USA are really missing out on all around good healthcare and Worker's Rights.🤨
Can Americans retire there?
I would like to know that too. My prospects for retiring comfortably here in America are slim.
Probably, but taxes might be high, and universal healthcare might not cover you as you didn't pay in for taxes your whole life?
That's what I figured. Thanks!
It can be done if you have the resources to support yourself. I looked it up. 😊
For decades there’s been federal subsidies to farmers. Don’t tell me that’s not Socialism. Also oil & gas subsidies. Only when the government helps people (esp. poor) do you call it Socialism!
Damn I wanna go live in Sweden
America needs to be more like Sweden.
And Sweden also has some good nordic noirs to watch
I live in America where we have a few greedy wealthy people that own a scotus, a WhiteHouse and a congress
Yep, looking for a better retirement option in Europe!
Will you pick me up at the airport?
Do they have a spare room?
My best friends live in Sweden. One says the. Time there is getting bad but I don’t think she understands what “bad” really is. They are wonderful people and I wish I could move there so badly.
I know a Norwegian working in the US. His points out that you can never be super rich in Scandinavian countries because the richer you get the more you are taxed. I don’t really think that’s an issue.🤷♂️
Sorry for the typos. Crime not time
*SIGH*
Amazing what happens when people have a safety net
Then, why is Sweden has a population growth problem?
The country’s population is around 20% bigger than it was 20-25 years ago. Doesn’t sound like a population growth probelm.
Sweden, among other countries, has borrowed our ideas & improved on them for the benefit of the citizens Congress doesn’t seem interested in improving our SS system (raise the cap), Medicare/Medicaid (let the sick die), healthcare (make it financially inaccessible), education (kill it)
Been there it’s beautiful and wouldn’t mind living there
Apart from the gun laws and the not being communist, sounds good to me.
I agree wholeheartedly, but with 38% of voters die-hard MAGA, many others crony-capitalism sympathetic if they think it will help them, and a shitload of stay-at-home apathetic never voters, this is pearls before swine.
Bingo. Good ideas dont mean much if we have a ton of stupid people who hate them for no good reason.
🤔
Why can’t we have nice things?
QtipsANON. Having lived in Malmö for a time, I concur! Photo from Ribersborg.
Must be nice.
