I believe the actual solution to crime is ending segregation, which was racial but now economic. Chicago is infamous for this. This premise that 58 shootings is acceptable (900+ shootings so far) is horrible. It doesn't justify martial law, but my problem no one is offering the actual answer.

Do they contextualize any of it? Analyze neighborhood dynamics? Sift through domestic vs street crime? Look carefully at organized crime dynamics? Compare the overall metro population and crime stats with similar metro areas? Or, do they laundry list from police reports?
The shootings happened all over the city. No token force of Nat. guards is going to stop anything.
The governor said he’d love to have more assistance from the FBI or other trained law enforcement. Trump isn’t offering that. He’s sending ICE and NG who are there to round up immigrants and occupy. Two different purposes. Trump thinks we’re idiots and don’t see what he’s doing!
