I understand by comments below the OP post this is Ru on Ru, however, I could hear in my mind an Ukr soldier's rage at the loss of his own family and catching the one that killed them. The former is normal for Ru. The latter felt justified, albeit the wrong choice.

He speaks in the plural, so even more of these losers were under the influence of drugs.Apparently, the unit has a drug problem. The Atesh group reports from the occupied Kehrson zone that they have problems with alcohol there.A drunken major is responsible for the loss of a large amount of equipment

I assumed he was a POW at first, but my very limited Russian and the translation both track with it being a meat wave survivor getting beat up by a Russian commander.

Live in a Baltic country and know that ruZZians are not always so mild looting/defecating other lands. Remember history of my country, how they looted, defecated it, and will detest them - my children, gradchildren etc too - for ever

If Russians are this cruel to their own soldiers, just imagine how cruel they must be to Ukrainians in Crimea and the occupied territories?

They were like this from the first day. We have 3 years worth of videos and other evidence documenting their nonstop atrocities.

I have >30 years of military service. If anyone tried this on me, I would carefully plan and quickly end them at a time of my choosing!

They get paid for being in the Russian army. It’s voluntary, they are mercenaries.

In Russian army, cruelty is the point. If you fear your own commanders the most, fighting the enemy is the lesser evil.

Looking back on 800 years of Russian history - they rarely revolt against oppression. Darwinistic evolution led to the disappearance of that trait from their culture.

With few historic exceptions, I agree. Check out "The Romanovs" by Simon Sebag Montefiore. It chronicles 500 years of despotism and the country's "Russia is God's gift to humanity" ego-centric thinking. Barbarians from the bog...
