He acknowledges the fact that diplomatic channels will eventually have to be reopened just so they can solve issues of a practical nature but other than that there really isn't anything concrete here that should cause concern.

They share a 1300km long border and some water ways and have been invaded multiple times by Russia. Finland is not dependent on Russia or has a russian minority. Finland is a relatively small country with a large crazy neighbor. Its best to have some kind of relationship

I dont think Finland is showing weaknesses. Quite the contrary. They have a very powerful military and national will to defend their country. But they are used to being pragmatic regarding russia.
And I think showing Russia any will for restoring the "friendship" and diplomacy, is a wrong approach, if we're talking about dealing with the terrorist Russia. But there it is. We could agree to disagree, right?

Surely not. But there is no reason to give Russia any excuses to invade. Keeping tension as low as possible is good. Especially in the areas close to where Russian nuclear subs are located, eg Kola peninsula.

Yes, a nuke is old tech. But for deterrence you also need to stick it at the business end of a rocket. And have many such missiles in eg a sub. And you have to produce the whole setup without anyone noticing it - so they dont stop you.
Well, Finland now have the protection of the NATO. So who and HOW, theoretically, could stop Finland from producing the nuclear weapons?
