At the same time, US policy since summer 2025 blocks the use of long-range weapons, including ERAM and Storm Shadow, for strikes on Russian territory.

It’s is frustrating, but there are hundreds of targets in the occupied areas they can use ERAM. Flamingo and multiple types of drones can hit Russian deep targets.

In what way does the US have any say, in how Ukraine uses Storm Shadow? GPS usage?

Then they will stop delivering them. And they can exactly see who fires what and where.

Some of the targeting electronics are US made. USA is dooming their weapons industry every time they do this BS.

The targeting data is also provided by the US, for alot of weapon systems. Which can be withheld to coerce Ukraine. To manage escalation.

The US is in charge. You do as they say or you'll lose alot of shit. Because you depend on them for e v e r y t h i n g . It really is that simple.

It really doesn't matter where some components were made. It's just some components out of thousands of parts and services the US provides. Which they will use as leverage to control the situation however they see fit.

The US is only in this war to make money and protect Russia. This illustrates it perfectly. They probably crap as well. Better put the money on developing missiles in Ukraine and the rest of Europe.

That's pretty short-sighted. It just means American weapons could be restricted from any use against Russia. That's an issue for everyone buying them.

rudolfski.bsky.social @rudolfski.bsky.social

There are always restrictions on weapons. No matter from whom you would buy them. And they can be used against Russians, but not on Russian official territory.

ThePaleEmperor @thepaleemperor.bsky.social

That's why there is a need for domestic or European production. The US will always apply enough restrictions to prevent Ukraine from winning, so an alternative is needed, no matter what that takes.

ThePaleEmperor @thepaleemperor.bsky.social

The issue is, no country can employ an independent foreign policy if they use US weapons knowing they will micromanage every strike. Better to use domestically made weapons & have total freedom.
