Hungary’s FM reacted to Zelenskyy’s Druzhba pipeline remark. Slovakia’s FM called Ukraine’s actions self-damaging, risking fuel shortages, as the pipeline is vital. Slovakia supplies 10% of Ukraine’s diesel, per the Slovak Foreign Ministry.

Wait a moment, they say that Ukraine carried attacks against their energy supply, but Ukraine attacked Russian infrastructure in Russia. Does they admit that they are now part of Russia?

I don't think they have the infrastructure to get large quantities of oil to their country. They don't have any ports. I don't think there's a pipeline from Romania or Croatia. They've never considered that. Orban was too busy embezzling money, beating up gays and abolishing the free press.

They had 3 years to prepare a backup plan and diversify supplies... what did they do all those years?

The sheer arrogance and insolence of this Hungarian regime is unbelievable. Ukraine attacked a russian asset on russian territory, it has nothing to do with Hungary, just like the war in Ukraine 'is not their war'.

Well, their “energy supply” is not only that, it is also Russian-owned and part of the Russian war machine. One can ignore this important aspect, but then reality is not reflected. And it is a different thing to say "would you leave our energy supply intact and let us finance Russia's attack"?

The Druzhba Pipeline runs through Ukraine, they could have stopped or at least throttled supply to Hungary and Slovakia at any time. I don’t understand why they’re going through the (comparative) trouble of bombing it inside Russia

The pipe has two branches. The one through Ukraine to Hungary hasn't worked since the contract expired last 31st December. They're now stopping the northern branch through Belarus.

Germany and Poland stopped buying Russian oil via Druzhba in 2023. Also there doesn’t seem to be a North-South connection, if Slovakia and Hungary are getting oil via Germany it would have to travel by road? I’m all for disrupting Russian export infrastructure, but genuinely confused by this target

This pipeline also carry petrol for region of Russia and Belarus. Hungary is not the primary target. Others strikes against Russian energy networks will happen. Hungarian regime is just dumb : they created a situation where they are collateral victims.

But Russia's attacks on Ukraine's energy security aren't a problem for Slovakia, so why would this be a problem for Ukraine?

It is somewhat ironic that a couple of years ago the ruling parties of Poland sent busloads of sypathizers to cheer for the fat fuck on any given day... Oh how the tables have turned!

Seeing Orban/Fico cry was cute at first, but now I'm addicted. I just cant get enough. Please keep hitting the pipeline. Crowdfund if you have to, I bet even the sane half of hungarians would contribute.

What many here do not realize is that the Hungarian Oil Co. (MOL) is key for election success. Entirely built on getting free russian oil in exchange for worldwide propaganda. Without ruschian inflow it is impossible to keep HU fuel prices low. Diversification is anathema. Hence the shrieking.

1. The Slovakia's only refinery is owned by Orkbán's friends from MOL. 2. There won't be any fuel shortages in Ukraine because Ukraine is buying that fuel. 3. Poland/Romania/... are happy to replace Slovakia in those deliveries and get paid.
