Washington has supplied Ukraine with weapons capable of hitting targets in the Russian rear, said US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. He noted $1 billion in direct US arms sales and another $1 billion from allies over the past month.

This just feel to me Trump want to be in a position to claim he is responsible for Ukraine successes. However fairly certain "We sold Ukraine stuff" is not impressing anyone.

But I thought Washington had also barred Ukraine (again) from long range strikes?

Only when using US weapons, Trump's threats and restrictions are becoming more irrelevant to Ukraine with passing time. Europe still needs to up it's game and totally remove all dependency to the back stabbing USA for any weapons & Intel.

The long distance weapons he is probaly referring to are the ERAM missiles which are predominantly anti-aircraft or anit-missile missiles. They have a extended range over the current AMRAAMs and can be launched beyond launch aircraft radar range to be targetted by an AWACS aircraft.

Nothing this dim-witted toilet-salesman has to say about anything has any value whatsoever. You don't look for facts by asking an asshole like this quasi-Nazi flunky. (And of the course the same really applies to *anyone* in the Trump admin.) Do some real reporting, and get the real facts.

I hope "hitting targets in the Russian rear" includes Putler's arse.

Ukraine used their own drones to hit Russian oil refineries (something Trump tried to stop them doing a while ago). Everything that comes out of the Trump administration and everything on Fox News is BS.

To be fair, America and Europe under Biden and Scholz also made Ukraine fight with one hand behind its back. That however doesn’t detract from the truth spoken by Rebelo de Sousa, Trump is a Russian asset.

That's what an ordinary arms dealer does. He makes money selling weapons. Should Europe and Ukraine be grateful now?

He also claimed Ukraine has disabled around 20% of Russia’s oil refining capacity.

The goal should be to destroy 100 % of the oil refining capacity. Then 100 % of the capacity to repair the oil refineries. Then 100 % of the Russian government.

Yes, Ukraine destroyed 20% of Russia's refining capacity—without American weapons. Why do I always feel like the US also claims credit for things it has always actively tried to prevent?
