Weather is day to day, climate is the overall pattern. I can't tell you which day in July will be the hottest and which day in February will be the coolest, but I can tell you that July will be a lot hotter in NA than February. You're talking about a minor variance in the overall trend. Duh.

You know I looked at some of the datasets in the Roy Spencer page, and it doesn't just document low atmosphere anomalies, it also follows the upper troposphere and stratosphere. The trends are doing very different things aloft from those on the ground. Upper level circulation is chilling down.

Cooling ALOFT is no threat to satellite operations! Where did they get that squid from?? The atmosphere EXPANDS with heating, contracts when cooled and the thin mesosphere and thermosphere vary much more in height with temperature change. It's upper HEATING that causes satellites problems!

Can't call it global warming when the whole atmosphere is not warming. The upper levels beyond the clouds are completely exposed to the Sun. If warmth-causing CO2 is more abundant and is always well circulated, why are the upper trop and stratosphere cooling since 1979?
