There’s a lot of great wines produced in many parts of Canada. People just need to try them.
We need to make it possible for small wineries and breweries to be able to market their wares even if only small batches.
I love to support local and Canadian, but when it comes to wine, I don’t think so.I do fine with Australian,New Zealand, European,Chilean. It’s not my fault wines from Ontario and Canada,in general, don’t compare with the above mentioned countries.Older vines mean better wines, and we aren’t there yet!
Now this is good news.
Ontario has some beautiful wines. I'm having fun trying new ones.
This is great news! And as our inter-provincial trade barriers get fixed we should see sales of wines and spirits from across Canada show up everywhere and their sales will increase too.
This is just a drop in the wine glass. Canadians are finding an array of new favourite goods and services, as are the citizens of other tarif hit countries. We are also now trading more and more with these other targeted nations. We have moved onwards and quite frankly upwards. #ElbowsUp

love our Canadian wines!!
Trump lies that Canada's "ripping off" the US. 🙄 "Last year, each Canadian consumed an average of $8,500 worth of American goods, while every U.S. citizen’s consumption of our products was $1,208." 41M Canadians buy 7X as much from 341M Americans as they buy from us windsorstar.com/opinion/colu...
Every word is a lie from #chump We are near the top of countries who consume the most america products. It's really not right for any 1 country to have that market control
We're not near the top—Canadians are *at* the top, on a per capita basis, of consuming the most American products. There's only 41 million people in Canada. Per person, we *way* outspend EU and Chinese citizens on US goods. We're America's best customer by far. Trump should thank, not threaten us.
I knew we were between 1 and 5... I just didn't have the figure to prove my stand at the time. I know how insidious the american consumption is.. nearly everyone I know and observe are all consuming american products like Crack. Advertising works.
Who is spending 50 per week? Really. I wasn’t before that Dick started his tariff nonsense.
No, it's means if you Only spend $50 on Canadian... Obviously we all spend more. Shift... $50.... when you spend... that's the message.
I got that. Who is spending 50 per week on American goods these days? I cannot think of anything I spend that is American made. Maybe some lettuce. But ya- the message needs to be heightened even more.
Same here. I switched everything I buy, toothpaste, cleaning... I did without fresh broccoli and celery for months.
Curious what non-US toothpaste you switched to? Grocers in my area are still putting out a lot of US stuff and the labeling is not always clear.
I've been trying to get Shopper's to consider, as they stock a fair bit of #attitude products
Locally, only #greenbeaver is available here in #Halifax I know. I ordered directly from #attitude in #Quebec and got really good toothpaste, I am liking so far. Free delivery over $70. I have 4 tubes
Cool, I'll check it out. Thanks!
Your welcome. I have been impressed with trying the toothpaste, the shower spray cleaner and the deodorant (amazing smell - eucalyptus/sage) Certainly hope you do. #attitude has great eco responsible practices. Not only Canadian, but #ecofriendly and that's a double win
You'd be surprised.. I was. At Shopper's, saw a couple spend $150 on pepsi and oreo. I noticed not all of us seem to get the situation.
However , many are made in Canada. By Canadians.
Part 2 ....Canadian workers, who work for companies that have their sales and work force restricted, because of the dominance of the american brands. So, it's 2 sides... end the day, it impacts all of us Canadian workers. We were fair with u.s and now we are a prize. So, everyone has to decide
I know... It is personal choice. But I believe, that in this situation, in a #tradewar , that can escalate due to the irrational leader down south... It's our duty, to send a message, and if we shift some sales from american owned businesses here for a bit, we spread $ to other....
I was surprised to learn, for example, that "Canada Dry" ginger ale is now owned by an American company. I think people are still buying stuff like that without realizing that it's American. (I switched to A&W root beer instead which is indeed Canadian)
I switched to #thepopshoppe which I used to drink in my younger days. Or locally #halifax there's #propeller
Well it was back I 2008 Dr pepper bought it out. I have had Maybe 5 of them since then. Yes, thank you, many are without realizing it.
There is a Canadian version of Dr. Pepper that is reasonably close to the original, called Dr. Cove - it's branded as a healthy pop which I do not care about lol but it is the only "Dr" style pop that I've found is in the ballpark of Dr. Pepper. www.covesoda.com/flavours/dr-...
Yes my newer choice. I buy also. Lol see? There are alternatives
Most households spend at least that on groceries.
Yup. Sure. I spend a hell of a lot more.
Exactly. It’s not most households that can or must keep it at 50 and 50 doesn’t actually get you much US fruit vegetables cereals etc
Well the idea is that we switch as much as we can to Canadian. When I see produce (fruits, veggies), are american... I haven't bought. I did without fresh celery and broccoli for months. I buy citrus from other countries. There are Canadian choices for cereal. I have quick oats from #gianttiger
Exactly. And almost all of us CAN move that 50 from American to Canadian
Most of us. There's really no reason why we can't to close it or all Canadian. I've been practicing this for 20 yrs. All my groceries are Canadian or international
There's many regions in Canada producing lovely wines. Nova Scotia included. Recently NS received it's own appellation of origin "Tidal Bay" which is unique for North America. www.mynslc.com/en/Local/Win...
I’ve been drinking a lot of South American wine lately too, it’s good!
Even before the Felon’s tariffs I purchased almost exclusively #Ontario 🇨🇦 wines, save for the 🇦🇷 Malbec that my husband favours. 🍷
Now if Ontario would bring back BC wines. Seems in the last few years the selection has dwindled drastically. Used to be a section at my local LCBO. Now I can't recall the last time I saw a single bottle.
Looks like they removed them with the american ones ….. it is shame no Kelowna wine at LCBO.
They've been gone for much longer than that. Yes there are some excellent wines from the Okanagan
I’m an Ontario resident… primarily a red wine drinker. I’ve tried many. I just can’t. Knock down the provincial barriers and get BC wines here!
Same. I order the wine from the wineries in Kelowna …
Have you tried Flat Rock Pinot Noir? They are pretty good.
Pinot is not my “jam”. More of a Cabernet (not cab franc), amarone kind of guy. Like the bolder reds.
How awesome is that!!!
Wonderful news! Alberta could be selling BC wines like crazy, and Saskatchewan Ontario wines….but no, the two western stooges who want everything given to them would rather support US brands of alcohol.
Ontario wine is so overpriced. They take advantage of this situation. It is a no for me even if there is no other wine available. Bring BC wine back to LCBO.
Please tell me not Gretzky wine 😆
The vines, on my drive today, look very healthy ❤️
