Now why would we ever call our young folks rebellious when they have more brains than their parents? Seems to me we need to encourage our young folks to use their brains and not just be sheep. Just give them the facts and let them fly. Maybe they can fix the stuff the parents messed up.

Mom saw me holding hands with a boy I was 16. I got home the next day and there was a circular container on my nightstand with instructions to figured it out on my own! No “talk” no doctor exam nothing! Years and years later I learned she had given up a baby at 16 she was only trying to protect me!

my Mom said to me once when I was about 13 'you're going to get your period soon'. She said it in a frustrated voice that ensured I asked no questions. That was it. And I was #3 of 4 (not like it should have been her first time). So. Yeah. She had staunch anti-abort. feelings, but, nothing more.

there was a GP close to the HS who prescribed it to teens with no parental bullshit. She (natch) had a huge practice overnight. I stayed with her until I was 30 and moved to BC.

All vaccinations should be mandatory. Regardless of religion or personal beliefs. More lives are saved being vaccinated as opposed to not being vaccinated. Anti-vax people better wise the hell up. If your kids cannot show proof of the necessary shots....they cannot attend public school.

So it's not just drugs, alcohol & sex parents have to worry about with teens. Now its taking personal responsibility for an informed decision on their own health. What is sad is unless they're from some cult their parents are vaccinated but have chosen to deny that safety to their children
