It took so long last fall for them to arrive. We kept calling around and none of the pharmacies had any idea. We were going on a big trip and wanted to get flu & COVID shots before leaving. A small US border town 30 min. away was awash in both. We bit the bullet and crossed the border and paid.

This is why I use a local privately owned pharmacy and not Shopper's for my prescriptions. It has the added benefit of personalized care and they know me when I walk in.

I’ve received most of mine from a tiny independent pharmacy in my neighbourhood. Also switched prescriptions to that pharmacy! They actually answer the phone!

Good news, but no comfort for those Canadians who can't take mRNA vaccines for medical reasons. Sanofi will not market the protein-based alternative, Novavax, in Canada this year, but is planning to do so in the future. It might be available in the USA, but the situation is pretty muddy there.

Moderna has vaccine plants in the US as well, but former PM Trudeau had two new facilities built in Canada so we could make all of our own vaccines like we did in the past, previous Conservative govts had sold them off to the US and then they closed them here
