That’s not my question. Of course he doesn’t care about the people. But if he was in it for himself he wouldn’t be destroying our economy and everything else. You can’t get rich off a dead economy and a weak military that will never recover. If we don’t have jobs we can’t pay taxes etc etc.

I have 2-3 I’m mulling around in my brain but I haven’t settled on one. Weakening America for Putin’s benefit is a strong contender. Pure vindictiveness maybe? Being a mostly decent person, I think my abilities are limited in this arena. I will probably fail at picking the right one.

I’ve also witnessed mental illness close up and I’ve seen people who lack insight into their destructive behavior, destroy opportunities (to keep things vague), so that’s also a theory. Perhaps it’s a large consortium of seriously misguided untreated mentally ill individuals?
