I can’t see how this is really any different from England and France, Scotland and Ireland, The Netherlands and surrounding areas. You will find plenty (of often elderly or young men) across the Highlands and Islands who feel they have been swamped.

So my view is that doesn't matter what the level is, from towns to countries, if you have large influxes of people from different ethnic backgrounds you are probably going to get some sort of trouble between the two. Just wait until the new "English" turn up, the difference in culture will be huge

That’s fair, at least you see international and internal migration in the same terms. I do no think Pakistani or extreme Muslim immigration is as big a threat as you seem to. I would say our culture is in a constant state of flux.

I don’t dispute that radical Islam exists, I just don’t think it’s really an issue, and our society is strong enough to withstand it. I think technology is a much bigger drive of community break down. And extreme Islam is hijacked by grifters and malcontents to stir up unwarranted fears

Gain attention and political sway. Social media companies, who have skin in the game should take more responsibility for this. I’m afraid you haven’t persuaded me otherwise - but thanks for the conversation: reasoned, without side comments, and logically driven.

I’m glad you accept that all the arguments about international migration scam be applied to internal migration. I hope you will state its extreme Islam and not generic ‘migration’ that really concerns you in future. And I would not quote the London figures that conflate the two.

But, over all, this has been one of the most rational debates I’ve had on here - thank you. I’ll hold my hands up, this did not go the way I expected and it’s good to know people can be civil even when having different opinions on a major issue.

"I don’t dispute that radical Islam exists, I just don’t think it’s really an issue," It's already at the heart of government in Scotland. It is the thee defining threat to Scottish culture going forward. If it was just some random people in the street I wouldn't care. But you have

the ex first Minister hamas yousef and anas sarwar both berating the Scottish people for being white in during an Anti-Racism debate. In which not a single person spoke the name Kriss Donald, a 15 year old white kid who was murdered and tortured on racially aggravated grounds.

People are so terrified of being called racist that could mention his name or thought it was better not mention it for sake of diversity. Diversity is their strength and solidarity is ours. You whole concept of technology being the main driving force is true to an extent but no different from

other time in history. The Nordic bards that travelled with their kings made propaganda poetry, the Christian monks rewrote pagan history into myths. The modern communication tech isn't special it's just faster and has never been the main driver of culture ever, it's a supplemental nothing more.

Where shops and bars are full of English accents, due to recent (last 30 years) migration. I don’t see this as a problem - it’s a change, but that’s what things do - imo.

I’m not sure the actually evidence of the the Anglo Saxon migration involved a complete eradication of the “brits”. There is so much research (particularly genetic) to be done before we know exactly what happened.

it was the biggest influx of people ever at the time, it didn't kill all the british, it displaced them west like im sure I said before. The highest density of the Anglo Saxons in the South East of England. Cornwall is such a funny British hold out in the South.

Orkney was invaded by Vikings. The Pictish culture eradicated and Norse replaced it. But genetically there was little change (based on the latest evidence). So the family stayed the same. But there is so much we don’t know about these changes and times they make poor equivalents for today.

Bloodly northerners, We have all been invaded by the Vikings at some point. Interesting to note there's no resentment in British culture towards the Nords. Well, not that i've noticed. On your second point, that's why cultural power centres are important to keep a hold off.
