Is the solution to roll your eyes and go "what are you like?" and move on? What I described is not uncommon. Of course the child had been spoken to, but what is happening to normalise similar behaviour. I think you are naive to ignore the dangers of porn on children.

I don't know how to make this any more clear The child has been "spoken to?" That sounds like you're scolding them, which is in line with your line of questioning. Fine, I get it, you hate and are ashamed of sexuality. Bugger off and stop pestering everyone else just because you get the squickies

That is not at all what was happening, or is happening. The child had been spoken to about their challenging behaviour prior to the incident. But what lead them to the place they thought that their behaviour was not extreme? (Something clearly did).

I worked very hard to make them feel included, while placing safe boundaries for the rest of the class. (I was good at that). But the creep of violent porn aiming boys was/is an issue. It’s not squirming about sexuality if you oppose forcing scary images on people who don’t consent.

In fact, I would say consent is the primary issue with sexuality, and if you are defending children who use sex as a weapon to belittle or frighten others (who are not consenting) then that is an issue.

I understand that to many having these questions posed feels like a threat to their way of life. But it is not. As long as consent is at the heart of what you to - have at. My experince of porn, with teenage boys, is that they don’t get this. Lots of them. That is a worry. Porn makes it worse.

As does drugs or alcohol. We limit these things for the safety of others. I think we should do the same with porn. I hope I can make this clear, and will listen to rebuttals.

Ok but the new law doesn't limit porn to adults, it stigmatizes porn and drives consumers to unethical providers, so it still isn't doing what you want it to do

If you really think limiting porn to adults is the answer, well, the current law doesn't do that \o/
