Stumbled into a ped street in Oak Park on my way to catch the train. The shop keepers were dying on the vine, fighting for scarce patrons. Total fucking ghost town.

Oak Park has these special events and the people love them and pack the street and then go back to normal the very next day. Needs to be permanent!!

Yeah I lived near there for a bit in the 90s, and pedestrian Marion St was a favorite place to walk to. So disappointing that they ripped that all out for just another boring street
