It's not an coincidence that shit started going really wrong in 2008, when the banks crashed. The saving of the banks was the first step to fascism. It was unavoidable, ad capitalism had nicely created the 'too big to fail' concept through its inevitable promoted monopoly power...
..once people are broke, you can convince them of just about anything to make their lives better, getting rid of immigrants, shutting off government assistance, blaming hunter biden etc. If you look at history, EXACTLY the same happened post 1929. Different countries, same result.
