Same here, but I do maintain a “dead scene graveyard” file for the stuff I like too much when I edit.

I have one of those. I have a whole chapter I cut out of Danny that gave a lotta insight to a particular character's motives but cut it because it was a little too mean and on the nose. I do sometimes regret it though. It was the right decision but I liked the chapter. Kill your darlings and such
