The rhetoric of disinformation. Americans have no understanding of what the left is. Unpacking your statement, you’re saying that critique of democrats makes people idiots but it’s the unthinking acquiescence to Trump that is bringing Fascism to America. The contradiction leaves no place for social
or humanitarian policies (socialism is a dirty word in the USA), so what that leaves you with is the right and the hard right. The reason Trump won the election was demonstrably gerrymander and voter suppression - not dumb lefties but a political process facilitated by republicans and democrats that
Respectively advantaged their parties. They rely on that to win elections rather than ideology, performance, integrity because elections are a sales pitch and the only thing politicians seek (mostly) is to win. With language condemning the left in the way you’ve used it, there can be no left that
isn’t unthinking, stupid, naïveté and so your average American graduates to supporting a punishing authoritarianism and graduates to voting for fascism, that embodies all of their ambient level bigotries and racism. America needs to stop being led by disinformation
talking points and find its heart because it’s not looking good for the USA currently. In fact Putin has pawned the country using your myopias against you.
The system is gamed. From the electoral college to the poverty and race divisions of electoral boundaries including mail in vote suppression. Politicians (largely) aren’t being elected on ethical policies but on what they ‘sell’ voters for their sponsors.
