I keep hearing this, about bills going up when data centers go in. Is that because you pay more in high demand areas? Where I live we have a fixed wholesale rate but some resellers here have fluctuating rates so I’m thinking maybe that’s what’s going on?

The local power supply is a fixed number. The data center uses X amount of that, on top of the actual people using it. Thus, the demand is higher, but supply is the same. Using facile economics, doesn’t that explain the higher prices for you? Or do you need a corporation to do your thinking.

Ps your corporations are clearly defining how you think about this issue. Be kind in your replies. I appreciate the explanation but we can all do without the snarkiness.

I needed an explanation because contrary to your xenophobia it doesn’t work quite like that model everywhere else in the world. We even have public healthcare systems that mean when I recently had emergency life saving surgery my expense was $42 aud for the take home drugs for pain relief.
