Arnold’s right and he holds a high moral ground well but Newsom is also right and holds a high moral ground. The solution is to challenge Texas and bring it to the party with a national autonomous electoral commission. That would also put Trumps GOP fascists & their voter disenfranchisement to bed.

Googles only showing what Schwarzeneggers saying today but it’s not showing the history of the fierce battles to try and eliminate gerrymandering by party in California. Fuvking jesis it feels like Americans just gravitate to extremes of dumb.
One nation without an autonomous electoral body that defines the borders, seats and districts. Every state has a grubby agenda to gerrymander so take that away from the state and the congress as a whole.
Great idea, but we need to win first
I’m not against the plan. I think good intentions and a bit of hubris are driving Schwarzenegger, rather than acknowledgement that there’s a limited ability for states to fight nationally. Newsom has a lot of failings but in this instance he’s trying to fk the GOP for ethical reasons.
Good intentions are seldom enough in politics sadly.
Other alternative might be to do away with districts/redistricting completely and have representatives elected statewide?

That’s one solution but you’re the United States and that doesn’t really manage gerrymandering because of the incredible voter disenfranchisement that’s already in play. That’s part of why Schwarzenegger put in place an autonomous body to control districting so that gerrymandering was eliminated
