Paxton's trial outcome was never in doubt. 2/3 of the state senate is GQP (including Paxton's now-soon-to-be-ex-wife, although at least she couldn't vote on removal.) No way they'd remove him from office.

There were some Senate Republicans willing to vote for removal at first, but under the gimlet eye of Sen Mrs Paxton, the others exerted enough pressure to make all but maybe one GQP senator change their votes in the end to acquit. Wonder if she regrets that now? (prob not lol)

This was when Abbott et al were freaking out over LULAC and began terrorizing the abuelas. "Ineligibility" in the minds of Republicans just means "brown" or "Democrat" or whoever else might oppose whatever the GQP has in mind. I believe it was actually Paxton who did the removals, though.
How do we combat this? We need volunteers who can inform people how to check their registration status & help anyone dropped off the rolls get restored. Women are at higher risk of being dropped due to name changes (and prejudice) and they may also need more help getting to the polls.

nice! I checked my registration at least once or twice a month before the election, just to be sure I could vote (I was highly motivated lol) but I used a different site. Wouldn't hurt to have alternatives, just in case someone decides one of them is TOO helpful...
