Okay you don't understand the world we live in. 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ but I'll give it a try. Nearly veryone I kno is working class & they're all on the left. So what you're saying is objectively false. A large group of working class people, for various cultural reasons are also MAGA Republicans. However...
The vast majority of the working class and poor don't vote & have no interest in politics. They feel neither party represents their interests so they feel it's not something they should invest their precious time & mental resources in because they're working 2 jobs & caring for their families.
The Dem Party is supposed to be the party of the working class (the proletariat). The upper middle class (the petty bourgeoisie) you refer to are doing just fine compared to the poor & working class & they already vote. Addressing the needs of that huge 90-130 million non voting working class
Is how you transform the country into a more livable & ethical place for everyone, including those you seem to hold in such high regard.
The Democratic Party isn't "supposed to be" a working class party at all, because the entire idea of a class-centric political party is fucking stupid. It's a party of values and ideals that in theory could, though in practice really don't, transcend class lines.
Ok. Good luck with that.
It helps that I haven't enslaved myself to a prepackaged Weltanschauung that hasn't been updated with new information since 1848.
Okay cool 🙋🏼♀️ Well all us leftists will be waiting with bated breath for you and the Parasite Landlord class to rise up🤣
Who said anything about landlords? The average educated urban professional is closer to being a renter than a landlord, if anything.
The defining characteristic is values: multiculturalism, pluralism, and an open society.
Seriously, this is like Exhibit A of "hasn't been updated with new information since 1848"
Anyone who supports multicultural pluralistic liberal democracy should support the Democratic Party, because that's what the Democratic Party *is.*
As opposed to the professional-managerial class, which on the whole (thanks to education being the biggest driver of these values) sees multicultural pluralism as the goal.
