I think you should respect them enough to let them enjoy what they asked for, instead of paternalistically assuming that you know what's best and you're the one who's going to save them.

I mean, yes, that logic applying to the 2024 election overall is, unfortunately, the point. And none of us who care want you to lose your hospital, but at the same time, your neighbors apparently do? No easy answers.
