Ok #birdsky any clue what these are? There were 100s of them. They are smaller than crows 🐦‍⬛ and they were loud and chatty.

Tails look to short for grackles, I think you've got starlings. But if you do look for when they fly off, starlings do murmurations.

My vote is starlings. They “swarm” when they fly. It’s impressive to see. I agree with someone else who said the tail isn’t right for a grackle.

Just a guess, but either Grackles or Red Winged Black Birds. Grackles have a blueish tint around their heads. RWBBs have a stripe of red feathers around the top of their wings near the shoulder. Could be both as they will roost together.

Get a look at the top of their heads by chance? Grackles will have a dark blue iridescence on their heads which you can see if you catch it in the sunlight.
